Social Media Launch Campaign
National Geographic is a global iconic brand that is a respected giant in the education of science, geography and nature. As part of their massive range of maps, Red Crayon were asked to devise a promotional campaign for the release of the Destination and Adventure map series in Australia.
Red Crayon conceived the idea of exploration and discovery through a Facebook app competition. Appealing to the target market’s thirst for knowledge and aptitude to use technology, the app would ask a question relating to one of the published maps and reward them with a prize co-ordinated through one of our existing relationships with a company aligned with the offering of Adventure, Travel and Tourism: Anaconda.
We also designed a supporting EDM and Facebook ad to drive people to the competition and encourage them to share the experience.
Through National Geographic’s large network, and a simple but engaging Facebook app, we anticipate a wide reach with sales figures to be monitored.
